Classes

Broadway Babies (Ages 2-4): Class consists of creative movement with basic structure of ballet and pre-jazz in a 30-minute weekly class. Our Broadway Babies will showcase their ability with one dance in our annual recital.
 
Carolina Cuties (Ages 4-6): Class consists of creative movement, pre-jazz, and a primary focus on ballet and tap concepts in a 45-minute weekly class.  Our Carolina Cuties will showcase their ability with two dances in our annual recital.  
 
Showstoppers (Ages 6-9): Class consists of a more challenging tap and ballet curriculum in a one-hour weekly class.  Our Showstoppers will showcase their ability with two dances in our annual recital.
 
Stars of Tomorrow (Student ages determined by skill level): Class consists of a ballet and tap curriculum with additional focus on technique, leaps and turns in a one-hour weekly class.  Our Stars of Tomorrow will showcase their ability with two dances in our annual recital.
 
Starliners (Student ages determined by skill level): Similar to the Stars of Tomorrow, this class consists of elite dancers who have had previous experience or who demonstrate a more advanced level of ability.  This class includes a ballet, tap, and jazz curriculum with additional focus on technique, leaps and turns in a one-and-a-half-hour weekly class.  Our Starliners will showcase their ability with three dances in our annual recital.
 
Frontliners (Student ages determined by skill level): Class consists of a higher level of difficulty in a ballet, tap, and jazz curriculum including a focus on leaps and turns in a two-hour weekly class.  Our Frontliners will showcase their ability with three dances in our annual recital.
 
Headliners (Student ages determined by skill level): These students are on their way to stardom!  To help them along the way, they will have a two-hour weekly class to master their technique and continue learning new curriculum in ballet, tap, and jazz.  Our Headliners will showcase their ability with three dances in our annual recital.        
 
Acrobatics (All ages): Class consists of acrobatic gymnastic skills in a 45-minute weekly class.  Acrobatics are a great way to induce flexibility, balance and strength while training the students in traditional gymnastics. Students will consistently work on several floor skills including proper stretching and conditioning, tumbling, cartwheels, roundoffs, aerials, walkovers, handsprings and more!  Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced acrobatics placement will be determined by skill level.  Because these skills improve overall dance technique, this is a great additional class for all dancers.  Our acrobatics classes will showcase their ability with one routine in our annual recital. 
 
Hip-Hop (All ages): Class consists of current hip-hop trends and musical fashion in a weekly 45-minute class. This is a fun class for all kids to experience current music while expressing their creativity through dance.  Our hip-hop classes will showcase their ability with one dance in our annual recital.
 
Private/Duo/Trio (All ages): Private dance lessons will be offered for solos, duos and trios.  These 30-minute weekly classes include the genre of your choice or may include a variation in styles of dance: ballet (lyrical/classical), contemporary/modern, tap, or jazz. The primary goal of these lessons is to improve strength, balance, posture, flexibility and technique while polishing overall skills.  These lessons may be taken for audition preparation, to improve skills, or simply just for fun!  However, if dancers would like to perform in the recital, they must commit to taking weekly lessons for the entire dance season.  These dancers will showcase their ability with one dance in our annual recital. 
 
Modern (Ages 10-18): This 30-minute weekly class allows dancers to express themselves more freely and theatrically through their movements. Our Modern dancers will showcase their ability with one dance in our annual recital.  
 
Technique (Ages 10-18): This 30-minute weekly class will focus on skills such as turning and leaping and will allow dancers to improve overall technique, control, flexibility balance, and strength.  This technique can be applied to dance genres of lyrical and classical ballet, modern/contemporary, and jazz, and will even improve tap skills!  
 
Ballet Company (Ages 5-18): Class placement in Mini, Junior or Senior Ballet Company will be determined by age and skill level)-Our Ballet Company is our elite group of dancers with a strong emphasis on ballet technique.  In this 30-minute weekly class, our students focus on ballet discipline. Ballet is known as the foundation of all dance.  While perfecting this discipline, balance and technique will result in improvement/progression in all students’ dance abilities.  Our Ballet Company dancers will showcase their ability with one dance in our annual recital.  
 
En Pointe (Student ages determined by skill level): This 30-minute weekly pointe class is for our experienced ballet dancers who have all of the necessary elements required to dance in pointe shoes.  Entry into this class is based on the instructor's evaluation of each dancer's ballet skills, which include proper conditioning, flexibility, strength, balance,  and control.  Our En Pointe dancers will showcase their ability with one dance in our annual recital.  
  
Vocal Lessons (Ages 8 and up): Stop by the front desk to pick up an information packet for vocal lessons!  You will be sure to find a time and session package that fits your needs!  Whether it's just for the experience, a role in a musical, a solo performance, a talent show, an ensemble, the District/All State chorus, the STARTS program at Winthrop University, The Governor's School, or the Choraliers, we can train and prepare you for your audition!  Several students have been selected to participate in ALL of these programs and have been extremely successful in their endeavors!  This weekly vocal training program is intended for teaching the proper method of breathing, placement, resonance, and will assist in vocal muscle strengthening with consistent vocalization and singing lessons. Students will be introduced to several vocal exercises as well as a variety of music styles.  These lessons will also include emphasis on proper pitch and harmonies.  All of these skills, including vocal tone and breath control, will further improve and polish overall performance.  Vocalists who have the required skills and who are ready to perform will be invited to sing in our annual recital!
